Who should the campaign address
The campaign is to lobby your
‘democratic representatives’! and
a few others.
§
MPs – address the House of Commons.
To find your MP go to:- http://www.parliament.uk/directories/directories.cfm
§
MEPs – to find your MEP see :- http://www.europarl.org.uk/uk_meps/MembersMain.htm
§
If you happen to have an MP on the DFID
committee please make a real effort to write to them as they have a better
opportunity for challenging the government’s complacency than the rest! See
list below:-
§
MEPs on their committees for Trade or
Development see- list below
You may also consider writing to the
American Ambassador to emphasis the point that America is blocking progress and
perhaps link to their seeking support for their campaigns against terror.

Expanding the campaign
Although the primary content of this
brief is about lobbying and advocacy, it is also important to continue to
sustain and expand the number of committed supporters.
Please encourage friends and contacts who might be sympathetic to the
campaign to join. Point them to the
web site www.jdc-web.org.uk
where they can become a supporter.
One widely used way to promote such
interest is to include an invitation in all your emails.
These can be easily created (in Outlook Express) either by including it
as part of your signature (under Tools, Options, Signature) or indeed as a
stationary (under Tools, Options, Compose).
